Nicolas Leal - Game Designer
ABOUT ME
I am Nicolas Leal, a Game Designer, born in 1996.
I'm in the videogame industry since more than 5 years. I started in a studio called Kylotonn, where I worked as a game designer and shipped two games: VRally 4 and WRC 8.
Then, I went to Ubisoft, where I worked on the Just Dance games with a focus on multiplayer and competitive gamemodes. I worked on an unnanounced Just Dance project, and also shipped Just Dance 2021 and Just Dance 2022. I then joined Hawkswell, an indie studio focused on RPG games to work on.. an RPG game!
I'm now working at an Ubisoft Bordeaux, on an Multiplayer Shooter game as a Game Designer.
As a Game Designer, I have learned through multiple projects to be proactive, rigorous and innovative. Through these projects, I learned to adapt to design requirements and deadlines, while improving my skills.
I specialize in rational game design, and I extend my knowledge to quest design, working on quest mods on many games in my spare time and constantly improving my quest creations.
I also love to design multiplayer experiences, and worked on several multiplayer games during my career.
What I like about game design is to create deep, intelligent and fun mechanics that will entertain the player. Combined to my love for immersive sim and my knowledge in system design, I can create complex or simple game systems that will allow the player to immerse himself as much as possible in their gaming experience.

I also work on quest design mods as an hobby. This is something I love to make and I work on that in my free time.

To improve myself, I constantly analyze everything I play, whether in terms of game design, quest design or systemic design.
