Nicolas Leal - Game Designer
Mother is a systemic construction and management simulation, inspired by games such as Dwarf Fortress or Rimworld, in which the player must lead the children to a habitable planet, with "story-generator" elements that rhythm his adventure. Inspired by "The Sims" and "RimWorld", Mother is an atypical but very interesting project that I have been working on.

Mother was my final year project at Aries, my game design school. We worked in a group with two other designers and programmers, a QA tester, and five game artists.
This game was for us a way to experiment with mechanics that we found interesting. We have worked a lot on the systems to make sure we had a coherent and consistent game. In addition, we have added an AI to our management mechanics that behaves like a child. So, we had to design the reactions of this AI to make the game as fun and deep as possible.
